This plant gets 6 to 7 feet tall for me in one season and creates a nice clump of plants. This EE is unique because the leaves fold upward and will catch all the rain in the leaf - be carefull when tipping leaf over to look inside as you will get wet. This plant has a dark almost black stem with shiny green leaves.

COLORFUL ETCHINGS

Carpenter, J. 2009 – 23" Mid EV 5" RE – The heritage of this cultivar is easily identified by the patterned eye with its etchings on both petals and sepals. COLORFUL ETCHINGS has a buff yellow-crème base color with beautifully etched eyes that appear on both the petals and sepals. The eye color is a blend of both lavender and wine color with a deeper wine color etching around petals and sepals. The deeper etched edge of the eye on the petals is accented with deeper fine lines of wine color that radiate downward into the beautiful green throat. COLORFUL ETCHINGS has a deeper wine edging with some additional lavender edging with it that extends about half way out on the petals. Repeating scapes have two-way branching with fifteen buds. Pollen fertile and pod difficult.
