(Petit 2013) Sev. Tet 7 - 7.5" 25" . The giant, massive flowers of Royal Standard are a rich, dark burgundy purple. The blooms have a lighter watermark atop a green heart. The petals and petaloids are surrounded by a crimped wire gold edge. The flowers of Royal Standard are truly huge, one of the largest doubles that I know of. Rich, saturated, and breathtaking!

Petit, T. 2007 - 26" TET Mid Sev. 5.5" - The self color on these striking flowers is a tangerine to lemon orange with a unique patterned eye of bright orange red, green throat. The circular eye moves out along the midribs to form points that resemble the peaks of a Russian temple. The eye is surrounded by a darker red mascara band highlighting its unique shape. The pattern eye continues around the beautifully ruffled petal edges as a double picotee surrounded by a third gold edge.

I've been working on orange based blooms long before Jane and I made the move to Florida 15 years ago. SASKATOON

Reed, 09 - 36" M 6" dormant, diploid. Ext. - Rich orchid purple, with great ruffles, this daylily has a big splash of a feathered darker purple eye, and some white in the throat. It has good branching (2 to 3-way) and bud count of 15-20. It blooms over a long season and is somewhat variable in form, hence was not registered as an unusual form, unlike its sibling FLIGHT OF ORCHIDS. It is sometimes a pinched crispate, other times a relaxed exotic form, or close to a cascade. The color carries across the garden. It is easily fertile both ways. One parent was an unusual form Jack Carpenter seedling.

Reed, 2011 - 45" EM 7.5" dormant, diploid, Unusual Form - This light purple cascade with a very green throat began in early June, and is finishing at the end of July (a bud builder!). A cool color, with diamond dusting, it recurves and cascades. 2-way branching with a bud count of about 20.
